Hey, I recently added a bunch of weapons to the Items Database, but http://vermintide.gamepedia.com/Eye_of_Aqshy does not appear in the BW melee weapon list for some reason. Could you verify what's wrong? I just copied the code from a sword of lower rarity, as I did will all the other weapons, but for some reason it didn't work for that particular page.
Fixed this. The issue was the stub template overriding the weapon template.
EDIT: Er, well, I think it was - at least that fixed it. But maybe it just forced an update - because I notice that other weapons with the stub template are working fine. In any case, it's showing up in the database now.
Hi! I have an idea to improve this table: http://vermintide.gamepedia.com/Item_Database#Trinkets . Since the trinket names give little clue of its effect (forcing the player to click each trinket one by one), I'd like to add a column to that table with a summary of the effect. So, for example, all the different rarities of the "Seal of the runner" trinket would show "Increases player's movement speed". This way the user can also sort the table by trinket effect.
The problem is, the table is coded in a weird way, so I don't know how to add any new columns to it! I believe it's a dynamic table that draws its data from each item's page on the wiki. Thus, I'd probably need to add a new section to each trinket page titled "Effect summary" or whatever, and you'd update the code in the table to make a new column using that data. Could you do that?
They are attached with template which in this case is Weapons template, so summary only can be added by add a section like Trinket which is in Weapons template, and add the summary info in each page which the item is in. you can add the new section to Weapons template, then add Effect summary info to each page that you want, after that i will add it to Item database. its easy to add it to Item Database it just a half line ;). If you want any further help, i'm here.
Sorry I took this long to answer, the stupid Wiki didn't notify me that you had replied to this post >.<
I see that you added an "| effect =" line to the template of http://vermintide.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Luckstone , and that is now reflected in the item database trinket table, inside the "rarity" column. But that's not what I meant. I wanted to add a whole separate column called "Effect summary", not add text to an existing column, so that people can sort it by effect.
Also, I didn't really understand your explanation, sorry. You say they use the weapons template, but I don't see that. In the luckstone page for example, it's using the trinket template...
Could you make the summary for just one trinket and add the new column to the table? Once I see how it's done in one page, I'll copy what you did for all the others. So please, just make one page as an example, implement it on the table and leave the rest to me :)
Sure, i have made changes since last visit to here. i have made the new column. and i have done what you asked. I'm sure you know what i talking about. I'm here to hear suggestions and help don't be shy ask me. I'm tired these day because i have exams in new year wish to me good luck. I didn't complete it on first try when you asked because i had exams that time either. anyways enjoy. ;)
I have finished the table! I'd really like to make it so that the default ordering for that table is by effect name. This would group all similar trinkets together in the table, making it much more organized (and the user wouldn't have to click the "Effect" header himself). Is there any way to make that ordering the default one when loading the page?
Hey there! For your Editing Contest prize, would you like to upgrade a standard version of the game to the Collector's Edition or receive a new copy of the Collector's Edition (no upgrade)?
Hi, thanks for the contest, i do not have the game :)
Wonderful! Could you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can give you your Steam code to redeem the Collector's Edition?
no, problem :)
Hi, I have undone your reversions because I tidied the page up, made it more useful, created links to enemies and missions, organised the lore section and generally made it better. Before it was riddled spelling errors, the locations section should have been merged with the lore section. The chaos gods and chaos page are not directly related to Vermintide, but Warhammer as a whole and thus are not relevant enough to be on the main page. I think it's hard to justify having links to these pages on the main site and not to the enemies and levels that are specific to this game.
The main page are for main things or staff to be placed on it. About finding pages, you Categorys and Templates to tidy and main page need more section for you edit and that the problem and need very good tidy and listed page. The edit will be undoing because it untidy and not stylish for a main of official Vermintide Wiki. if need any help you can find me on Chat Room and i will be happy to help.
But dont you understand, it was untidy before. It contained irrelevant information, looked messy and was unhelpful. The older version doesn't look tidier, it was a mess.
i do not say old page look better or tidy. but your edit is not right. I will try to design page to fit all sections and stylish tomorrow and if it did not fit it will be same page stylish.
But why? I (and a few others now) have a made a slick looking homepage
ARKKSI, looking back at past edits, it looks like Dustonpike has made some really good edits that were formatted very poorly. The content he added is valid, for sure - though we need to try and limit the text length on the mainpage for readability, a lot of what he's put up is good for the players. I want you and Dustonpike to work together to get the mainpage set up - you both need to collaborate, because the product of two intelligent people working together is necessarily going to be better than one.
I don't want to see a lot of edit wars on the main page - you guys should be working together. To that end, Dustonpike, I'm putting this on the other talk page as well, but just for visibility - go ahead and work on the mainpage here. I'll check for layout and everything once you're done, and move it over to the main page.
Hey there! Everything you've done has been absolutely awesome! Have you considered being a guardian for this wiki?
Yes of course :)
Hey AKKSI, I went ahead and added you to the guardian perms. As for the front page edit you made, I sized it down and centered the content - hopefully that's not too different from your original efforts!
